So, Culver City is talking about creating a special area in their downtown where people could legally walk around with drinks during certain events.

Kind of like Santa Monica has now on Third Street Promenade on weekends.

Anyway, the Culver City Council just agreed to look into it more, and the idea would be to set up an entertainment zone that covers several blocks in the main business district….so if you ever hang out at Public School 310 or Jameson’s Pub or 33 Taps…you know the area.

It would only be active during specific occasions like the World Cup, the Olympics, the 4th of July, the Tree Lighting (which is on December 4th this year)

They want to see if this could bring more energy to the area and help support the local restaurants and bars.

They still need to write up the official rules, decide the exact boundaries of the zone, and figure out how they would manage things like safety and timing.

So, it’s very early stages... but sounds cool!
