So, there’s this wild new milestone happening at the box office...
K-Pop Demon Hunters: The Sing-Along just gave Netflix its first-ever No. 1 theatrical release.
Over the weekend it pulled in around $18 million to $20 million, topping the charts. That was enough to beat Weapons (which brought in $15.6M) and Freakier Friday ($9.1M).
And remember K-Pop Demon Hunters came out 2 MONTHS AGO on Netflix! We’ve seen it 100x at our house alone.
But I totally get why this is such a big movement... I took the kids to see it yesterday at the Regal NoHo West and the energy was insane.
The entire theater was singing at the top of their lungs like it was a live concert!
The kids were dancing in their seats, it was a lot of fun!
Between the fan energy and the numbers it’s pulling in, this sing-along release is officially a cultural moment, and it was only supposed to happen for one weekend but I’m curious if they will extend it to next weekend too?
