You can’t get through social media without seeing a video of someone posting the song, “We Don’t Talk About Bruno”… like it's ALL over my TikTok FYP! And if you didn’t already know… it’s from Disney’s Encanto!
That song is currently #1… The soundtrack also hit #1 over the weekend! SO you know this isn't just quick success of the soundtrack based on the movie, I actually think this will become a CLASSIC Disney movie and soundtrack.
It’s the first soundtrack to hit No. 1 in more than two years – since Disney’s Frozen II (back in 2019).
What’s really interesting is that it was released on Nov. 19th, before the film arrived in U.S. theaters on Nov. 24th. But it wasn’t until the movie was released via Disney+ a month later, around Christmas, that everyone was now onboard!
A week ago, the album leaped 110 to 7 after its premiere on Disney+ and now #1 this week!
Another one of my favorite tracks from the movie is “Surface Pressure” which is sung by Jessica Darrow. But honestly, the ENTIRE soundtrack is amazing. And it's no surprise because it was written by Lin-Manuel Miranda himself!
Bottom line, if you’re sleeping on Encanto… it’s time to wake up! Because you're missing out.
