Celebs Like Samuel L. Jackson's Voices Are Coming To Amazon Alexa

Captain Marvel Talent Tour Press Conference

Would you like to be walking around you house and have a celebrity's voice talking back to you? I know it sounds a little odd when I put it that way but Amazon Alexa is going to start having the option for different celebrities to be the voice you hear when you talk to your Alexa and THAT is genius.

I know you're probably thinking "whaaaat" and "howwwww" but let me break it down for you:

Yesterday, Amazon announced that not only will the generic Alex voice be getting an upgrade to sound more "natural" but there will also be options to have the voice replaced with celebrity voices over time. Samuel L. Jackson is the first celebrity to be available for users to elect for.

The celeb voices will be available for all the regular features like reading you the news, telling you the weather, and, of course, answering questions like, "Alexa, ask Samuel L. Jackson where he is from." You know, just the hard-hitting stuff!

Also worth noting, users will be able to pick from clean and explicit versions of Samuel L Jackson's voice (HAHA!) and while the price is only $0.99 right now, it will jump to $4.99 in 2020.

There are no confirmations of what other celebrities will become available via voice on Alexa, but I'm hoping we get some good ones! Like what about Jennifer Lopez, John Legend, Cardi B or Morgan Freeman. Like, how good would that be?!

As for the update to Alexa's generic voice? Alexa’s voice will now sound more natural because it will be based on neural text-to-speech software that relies on deep learning techniques. AKA, it's getting smarter. (Kinda creepy.)

And if you can't get enough of your Alexa, then you're in luck. New products are coming down the pipeline including Alexa-enabled smart clocks. ovens and glasses. MAJOR.
