Pizza Hut wants to help make your pizza night a little fancier. The pizza chain announced its plans to launch Pizza Caviar, which it calls a "first-of-its-kind innovation" meant to elevate the "world's most beloved comfort foods."
But this innovative topping isn't the kind of caviar you might be envisioning. The product is meant to replicate the look and feel of traditional caviar, without any fish involved. The jars of the treat are filled with tiny balls of Pizza Caviar that deliver a "smoky pepperoni flavor." These spheres are crafted from pepperoni-flavored water and agar - agar, a plant-based, gelatin-like thickening agent made from red seaweed.
Although putting real caviar on pizza might be the more obvious choice, Pizza Hut commented “Why just place caviar on your pizza when you can reimagine it entirely and create a bold new food category?"
I don’t know if Pizza water filled balls is something im necessarily looking forward to, but it definitely is something I’m interested in trying.
