Having trouble sleeping recently? We feel the exact same way, so we took it upon ourselves to figure out the best method to get some zzz's in to get a good nights sleep. After scavenging for hours we came across a method that is comical to imagine doing but apparently has lots of benefits in aiding in better sleep.
Apparently, you can simply pretend like you’ve had one too many margaritas. At least that’s the idea behind the “drunken monkey” sleep technique, which encourages you to sway gently back and forth like you’re a little bit tipsy. Weird right! before you knock the method hear us out!
The drunken monkey hack, which has nearly 60,000 views on TikTok, also suggests you add a few arm swings into the mix, a move that will make you feel like a monkey! Now you may be asking yourself what benefits this has for you to be doing this to yourself every night, and apparently this little dance helps you sleep better by boosting blood flow to your limbs.
The idea is to step your feet out wide right before you get into bed. From that position, you repeatedly shimmy your hips left to right to loosen your muscles, and then you add in a shoulder rotation. The goal is to get all of your extremities moving and grooving for a full minute. If you tend to find yourself tossing and turning, drunken monkeys also help release the pent-up energy that might otherwise keep you awake. The exercise can tire you out physically, setting you up for the best environment to get some sleep in!
