If living in 2024 wasn't already a task in itself, what if I told you Gen z has now come up with their own lingo and translating that Gen Z lingo just got that much harder!

Couples, friends and siblings are revealing their own secret languages, quizzing each other on their so-called “friend dictionary” in a hilarious TikTok trend started by none other than the Zoomers, who already confuse the world with their complex internet lingo.

To give an example to any confused readers, one name used is 'nosetta' which is someone who is very nosey. Experts told us that the evolving language is the hallmark of a good friendship, as TikTok viewers fawn over creators’ tight-knit relationships. In a way, it’s kind of like they “belong to a secret club!

Most words that are included in the new vocabulary are derived from years of inside jokes and shared experiences. more examples of gen z phrases include, “I’m in excruciating pain au chocolat” to describe the painful bloat post-indulgence, or “projectile committed” when they made plans they can’t back out of.

Is the new gen z language something you'd be down to incorporate in your daily life? or are you confident in your own twist in lingo? Let us know what you think by DM'ing us on socials @YMSradio!
