A robot lawyer is getting sued by another law firm because it doesn't have a law degree.
Yes, you read that right. The robot was going to make history for advising the first defendant in court with A.I.
The "robot" is actually an AI powered app -DoNotPay-- and is facing allegations that it is "masquerading as a licensed practitioner" in a class action case filed a Chicago-based law firm.
The law firm argues:
'Unfortunately for its customers, DoNotPay is not actually a robot, a lawyer, nor a law firm. DoNotPay does not have a law degree, is not barred in any jurisdiction, and is not supervised by any lawyer.'
