Trying to plan a wedding is no easy task and when you factor in trying to be timeless versus matching current trends we can already feel the headache coming!

However, according to a group of "wedding experts" these are some of the trends you might see become more popular in 2023 and we are in complete support of the "First Dance-Off" instead of the first dance:

  • First Dance-Offs - One in ten couples actually plan to skip the tradition in 2023, but some couples are actually changing the first dance by turning it into a "dance-off" where the couple dances against each other to see who has the better moves.
  • Wedding Parties - More couples are moving away from the traditional gender-focused roles for who is standing next to them in the aisle. The re-invented "bridal party" will feature more of a mix of genders.
  • Sustainability - Sustainability was a consideration in wedding planning for over one-fifth of couples like renting a wedding dress, using keep-cups, and using eco-friendly wedding favors.
  • First Look - More than 10% of couples decided to forgo the old-fashioned idea of not seeing one another before the “I do,” and instead chose to do a “first look,” a moment for the happy couple to have some time alone before they hit the aisle.

You can read more about each of these trends HERE, but get ready to form a dance circle around the happy couple to root for them in a "dance-off!"
