As coronavirus cases rose across the country, it appears that even the candle industry was impacted thanks to a rise of negative reviews on Amazon.
A research assistant at Bryn Mawr College found that the number of reviews that mentioned "lack of smell" on Amazon increased from about 2% in January to almost 6% in November and it's because people didn't realize at the time that they had the coronavirus.
The research assistant stressed these findings are "just a fun exercise" and it would take a much more in-depth study in order to conclude if there is a correlation between the two factors, but with loss of smell being one of the most common symptoms of COVID-19 you have to think that candles need a re-review once the pandemic is over!
