A German pharmaceutical company named, Merck & CO, announced on Friday, October 1, that findings from a recent study showed its experimental antiviral pill -- molnupiravir -- reduced hospitalizations and deaths by half in people who had recently been infected with COVID-19.
Apparently the company will also soon ask health officials around the world to authorize its use. If it's approved for use, molnupiravir, will become the first at home oral antiviral treatment for COVID - 19.
