The official start date of Summer 2021 is June 20th, but Americans are sayingscrew that. A new study has found that for just about 60% of people that summer has already started. Solstice or no solstice, people are ready for the good times to roll.
The survey found there are a lot of ways people mark the beginning of summer that doesn’t involve a calendar. For example, for 51% the season starts when the temperature reaches 75 degrees. Meanwhile, 34% say it’s on after they’ve had ice cream from an ice cream truck and the same amount says it’s when they’ve hosted or attended a BBQ.
And if the numbers are right, this is set to be one of the most epic summers yet. People are eager to make up for the summer that never was and they’re planning twice the number of activities they usually would. The study also found people are planning to spend about $1,400 for this year’s festivities.Hot vax summer is on!
