Twitter Has Revealed Its Top Tweets of the Year

Twitter revealed its "biggest trends" of 2020 . . . including the Tweets that received the most re-Tweets and likes.

Sadly, the most re-Tweeted post of the year was the one that announced CHADWICK BOSEMAN'S death. Many of the other top tweets were about COVID-19, quarantine boredom, politics, and the Korean boy bandBTS.

Andy Milonakis made the Top Five most liked Tweets with this joke in May: "Congratulations to the Astronauts that left Earth today. Good choice." It has more than 3.7 million likes, which even took Andy by surprise.

The most discussed TV shows worldwide include: "Grey's Anatomy","Game of Thrones","Tiger King", and"Stranger Things".

The most discussed sports team was the L.A. Lakers. The Top 10 included the L.A. Dodgers, and several European soccer teams.

The most discussed sporting event worldwide was Super Bowl 54.

#COVID19 was the most-Tweeted hashtag, followed by #BlackLivesMatter.

PRESIDENT TRUMP was the most Tweeted about person . . . followed by Joe Biden, George Floyd, Kobe Bryant, and Barack Obama.

Twitter has a reputation for being a NEGATIVE experience at times, but this year brought on some positivity. Tweets expressing being grateful or thankful increased by 20% globally . . .

Twitter says there was a significant bump in the recognition of doctors (up 135%), teachers (up 30%), and essential / frontline workers. (That phrase was Tweeted more than 17 million times this year.)

The most Tweeted emojis were: The "lol" face, the crying face, the "pleading face" with the bleary eyes, the "rolling on the floor laughing" face, and the smiling face with the heart eyes.

They didn't say what the LEAST used emojis were . . . but it was probably one of those weird symbol ones, with the letters or numbers in the gray box.
