Finding out your partner has been unfaithful is awful any time, but learning it happened while you were at the hospital having a baby? WAY worse. And that’s what one mom is dealing with after discovering her husband was with his mistress while she was in labor with their third child. And yes, it’s worse – he was seeing the other woman when he claimed to be visiting their newborn preemie in the NICU.
The mom shared the story on Reddit, explaining that her husband has been distant for years and absent a lot during her pregnancy, even while she was sick. When she was admitted to the hospital at 34 weeks with high blood pressure, he was out of town golfing and it took him days to agree to come home. He finally showed up at the hospital a couple hours before the birth of their son and left soon after. And then when she returned home, he was gone until 4am, supposedly visiting their son at the hospital, but after checking his phone, she found texts from the other woman. She confronted her husband and he admitted the affair, says he’s been miserable for a long time and his wife kicked him out.
She knows he wasn’t good to her, but she’s still heartbroken. Now she’s asking for advice from the moms of Reddit on how to deal with the situation. Thankfully, they have her back. Many of them are furious on her behalf, calling her husband out for the jerk that he’s been. Lots of people assure her that none of this is her fault and pretty much everyone agrees cheating on someone in labor and using visits to see their newborn as a cover for an affair makes him the ultimate scumbag.
