Another bride is being blasted for caring more about how her wedding looks than the feelings of her friends.
A bride recently asked for some advice on Facebook on how to break it to two friends that while she wants them to be bridesmaids, she doesn’t really want them in the wedding party because she doesn’t think they’ll look good in the bridesmaid dresses.
The bride shared a draft of a message she plans to send these “two amazing” women in her life, and it’s pretty awful. “Your love and support for me does not go unnoticed,” she writes. “Your [sic] the person I’d dream of having beside me on my day,” adding, “But before I can ask[,] because my wedding is my dream […] unfortunately the outfit I have chosen I don’t know how you would feel about wearing.”
The bride then explains that the dress is a “crop top” style, noting, “I myself don’t feel comfortable in that so I didn’t wanna ask and put you in a position you felt uncomfortable [with].” She also insists that she has no intention of accepting “alternative options” for dresses, and a consolation prize, even if they aren’t in the wedding party, she wants them to sit front row because “your [sic] still my ‘family.’”
- As you can imagine, the bride is being taken to task for her awful behavior.
- “A crop top?!??! Why would someone pick something that they wouldn't be comfortable wearing themselves?,” one person shared. “This is like saying sorry your [sic] too fat to be in my wedding but I love you anyway.”
- “Wtf is this horrible person thinking??” one wrote, while another added “This woman is ridiculous. She is basically saying a specific outfit is more important than her friends.”
