A bride who desperately wanted to start her wedding right on time has sparked some major family drama
The bride shared on Reddit that her parents arrived to her wedding 15 minutes late, and while that doesn’t seem to be a big deal, apparently it was. See, the bride felt it was necessary to start the wedding right on time, and because of that her parents wound up missing the entire ceremony.
You may wonder why the parents were so late. It turns out they got into a fender bender on the way to the wedding, and since they didn’t have a cell phone couldn’t contact anyone to let them know they were running late.
Now everyone is mad at each other. The bride is still mad that her parents were late, even though they did leave early and it wasn’t really their fault. The parents are, of course, “furious” that the bride went on with the ceremony without them.
So, how does the Internet feel about the whole thing?
- Well, there are plenty of people who agree the bride did the right thing by starting the wedding on time, noting that even 15 minutes can throw a whole wedding off schedule.
- Others wondered why the parents didn’t leave super early to be there.
- Then there are people who can’t understand why the bride is still mad at her parent especially since they had a good excuse for being late, with some blasting her for the lack of concern she seems to have that her parents were in an accident.
- And then there was one person who suggested that the argument is more than just about the parents being late. “Yeah and the way that [the author] specifically mentioned that they paid for their own wedding kind of gives me the feeling that there is more to this story,” one person shared. “It's possible that OP already felt short-handed, expecting more from their parents in general.”
