Malika DeLancey, President of Maryvale Preparatory School

Malika DeLancey serves as president of Maryvale Preparatory School in Lutherville, where she supervises 112 employees at the grades 6-12 all-girls independent Catholic institution.

Ms. DeLancey built her career through progressive leadership roles in education. Before assuming the presidency at Maryvale Preparatory School, she served as director of admission at Oldfields School and lower school principal at The Park School. She also held multiple positions at McDonogh School, including associate head of lower school and director of diversity K-12. Her career also includes tenure at Garrison Forest School as director of multicultural affairs and assistant director of admission.

A lifelong educator in the Baltimore region, Ms. DeLancey earned her master’s degree in education from Johns Hopkins University and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park.

Ms. DeLancey’s community engagement extends to board memberships with Middle Grades Partnership, Sisters Circle and Baltimore Educational Scholarship Trust. Through Sisters Circle, she has mentored several girls through middle and high school. The Daily Record named Ms. DeLancey one of Maryland’s Top 100 Women in 2025.
