"Janey Ohrvall is the District Manager of Mission Escape Rooms, where she oversees three immersive locations with 11 experiences across Maryland, a mobile unit and their workshop where every experience is built from the ground up. Her teams of Escape Experience Hosts and Game Masters are the best in town, guiding guests through their thrilling adventures. As a lifelong artist and storyteller, Janey brings people together through unforgettable, hands-on experiences that challenge the mind and spark joy.
Her path to immersive entertainment has been anything but ordinary. Before joining the escape room industry, Janey spent six years in veterinary management, where her compassion for animals and community led her to found a local Pet Food Pantry—an initiative that’s helped hundreds of families keep their pets well-fed and cared for during tough times.
Her background also includes years as a head cake artist crafting elaborate edible creations recognized by top event agencies, and as an art instructor guiding hundreds of students in unlocking their creative spirit using paint and canvas. In many ways, joining Mission Escape Rooms brought Janey full circle—blending her creativity, leadership, and passion for people into one fulfilling role.
Outside of work, Janey is a certified Maryland Master Naturalist through the Department of Natural Resources. She spends her free time hiking wooded trails with her dog, fishing and kayaking local waterways, or camping under the stars. Nature fuels her creativity just as much as the stories she brings to life in every escape room.
Across every chapter—whether in the art studio, the vet clinic, or behind the scenes of an escape game—Janey’s mission remains the same: to create joy, build community, and leave every space better than she found it.
With new stories and escapes on the horizon, anyone, beginner or expert, can dive into the world of mystery and discover their inner detective with the immersive challenges that Mission Escape Rooms has to offer in Annapolis, Arundel Mills, or Waugh Chapel! "
