A New Version Of 'Baby Shark' Is Here To Help Kids Fight Corornavirus

The 2019 Toy Fair Takes Place At Olympia

Hate to break it you, parents, but there's definitely about to be a new Baby Shark song stuck in your head.

But this one you may be wayyyy more willing to hear over and over again. Because the new version of the extremely popular children's song is all about teaching kids how to properly wash their hands. Of course the goal of the new Baby Shark song is to get your kids to do their part in helping fight the spread of coronavirus.

Pinkfong - the company behind the viral and memorable song - uploaded the video "Wash Your Hands With Baby Shark" last week. And I have to applaud them for realizing that they can help out thanks to a song that mesmerizes kids of all ages and has them singing along - I would know! I took my twins to see Baby Shark Live several months ago... even then they knew what the song was and loooved it!

The video starts off shows your kids' favorite sharks - baby, mommy and daddy - singing the words “Wash your hands/doo doo doo doo doo/Wash your hands,/ Grab some soap/doo doo doo doo doo/Grab some soap.”

In the bottom corner of the video, there is a video showing kids the right way to wash their hands. And if you and your kids want to play along online, there is a hand-washing challenge. All you have to do is upload a video of your children washing their hands and use the hashtag #BabySharkHandWashChallenge to be a part of it.

Unsure about the power of Baby Shark? The original video and accompanying video was uploaded in June 2016 and has over 4.6 billion views at this time. You KNOW the song haunted you for weeks because you couldn't stop hearing it and seeing the video everywhere you want.

But hey, as a parent, I do know that I can turn that song on to calm my kids almost anytime! And now I can use it to get them to learn how to wash their hands well. Win-win!
