Lifetime's College Admission Scandal Movie Casts Two Leads

Felicity Huffman And Lori Loughlin Appear In Federal Court To Answer Charges Stemming From College Admissions Scandal

If you somehow didn't hear by now, the college admission scandal that included celebs Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman is becoming a movie on Lifetime and will, naturally, be titled simply, The College Admissions Scandal.

While the movie is not going to document Lori and Felicity as the main characters, it will follow two mothers who are obsessed with getting their children into the best college possible. The movie is set to begin production soon, so casting information and details about what the movie will include are beginning to be released. And let's just say, I'm pretty excited to watch this one...

It was just announced that Penelope Ann Miller (Riverdale, American Crime) and Mia Kirshner (Star Trek: Discovery, The L Word) will be the two leads of the movie, which will be a fictionalized version of the true story that we all saw unfold back in March.

The movie has found its Rick Singer - the ringleader of the entire scandal, who ultimately admitted to his involvement - with the casting of Michael Shanks (Stargate: Atlantis, Saving Hope).

According to Lifetime,The College Admissions Scandal will follow "two wealthy mothers, Caroline (played by Penelope Ann Miller), a sought-after interior designer and Bethany (played by Mia Kirshner), an owner of a successful financial services firm, who share an obsession with getting their teenagers into the best possible college."

The movie will then show the aftermath of Singer cooperating with the FBI, and how the moms now have to face the consequences of their decisions.

Since the story will be "fictionalized" it hasn't been stated if Felicity and Lori will be portrayed in the movie, but I have to believe there will be some sort of discussion of them or characters like them. And since the movie seems to be using Rick Singer's real name, who knows what else they will include!

The movie begins filming THIS month and is set to premiere on Lifetime this fall.
