In a not-so-surprising study, about half of dogs come running when they hear the treat bag.
2,000 dog owners were polled :
- 47% of dogs react when they hear a treat bag/container being opened.
- 52% of dogs run over when "treat" or "cookie" is said
- 37% respond to their own name.
The study also found that the average dog knows 5 spoken commands. The most popular activities people do with their pets include:
- 33% Walking
- 32% Doing outdoor activities (e.g. rollerblading, biking)
- 31% Watching TV/relaxing
- 30% Exercising
- 29% Sleeping in bed together
- 27% Cuddling/snuggling
- 27% Eating dinner
- 27% Visiting friends
- 27% Running errands
- 25% Working
