LA High Schools Can No Longer Start Before This Time Beginning July 1

Two new laws are going into effect starting July 1 in California. Starting Friday middle schools are now allowed to start before 8am, and high schools can't begin before 8:30am. This has been put in place so that kids can get more sleep and therefore be more alert and healthy in the classrooms.

According to KTLA, this law will apply to the 2022-2023 school year, and will exclude rural school districts.
