Why Tech Companies Use Blue Logos

Have you noticed the blue logos are used a lot for tech companies? Twitter (or at least before it changed to X), Facebook, Linkedin, Tumblr, etc. all have (or had) blue logos. Apparently the reason has to do with psychology.

According to research, black and blue dominate logos in the tech industry, with blue often being used for social media. The reason? According to Neuromarketing expert, Katie Hart, quote:

“Interestingly, the color blue is now often associated with communication too, which may derive from these feelings of security and safety.”

While blue dominates tech, red and pink are commonly used for food and drink. Hart explains, quote:

"Longer wavelength colors, like red, are known to have a stimulating effect on recipients. They arouse us and drive us into action. At some levels, red colors increase our appetite, heart rate, and even blood pressure, making us act faster, be more impulsive and potentially eat more.”
