Have you ever matched with someone on a dating app, started talking, and then planned a day to meet in-person only for them to back out at the last minute? You're not alone and it's the latest dating trend on dating apps called "OnlyPlans!"

Essentially it happens when your date cancels on you last-minute because of a myriad of excuses like a work emergency, having to watch a friend's pet, or because traffic is really bad and it happens to 52% of singles in a new study.

According to Plenty of Fish's annual report, the trend is the "act of repeatedly planning dates with someone, but never actually following through on them" and it's happening more often because people get enough validation connecting virtually so they don't need to meet in real life.

At the same time, Plenty of Fish says that most people in 2023 prefer to stay in their comfort zones behind a screen and "OnlyPlans" allows them to stay in their comfy clothes and avoid having to pay for an expensive date.

Have you dealt with an "OnlyPlans" situation in 2023? Let us know in the comments!
