Dan Spedden, President of Visit Hagerstown

Originally from Baltimore County Maryland, Dan Spedden is a graduate of the University of Maine’s Natural Resource Management program. Dan is the retired State Park Superintendent for the South Mountain Recreation Area, a cluster of four State Parks and a State Battlefield on the border of Frederick and Washington Counties. Dan was a law enforcement ranger who retired at the rank of Captain in October 2013. Dan is currently the President of the Hagerstown/Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau, a 501 C6 corporation with a mission to improve the economy of the community through the promotion and development of travel and tourism. He has been appointed to the Governor’s State Tourism Development Board and the Maryland Heritage Area Authority Board of Directors. Dan resides in Hagerstown with his wife Janette.
