Becky Smith, President and CEO of APG Federal Credit Union

Becky Smith is the President and Chief Executive Officer of APG Federal Credit Union (APGFCU), a member-owned financial cooperative with more than $2.3 billion in assets and nearly 160,000 members across Maryland. Since assuming leadership in 2025, Becky has led the organization’s strategic direction with a strong focus on improving the financial health and well-being of the members and communities APGFCU serves.

A transformative leader in the financial services industry, Becky brings more than 20 years of experience in strategy, sales, marketing, and organizational growth. Prior to joining APGFCU, she served as Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer at SECU Credit Union—Maryland’s largest credit union—where she was responsible for corporate strategy and all major lines of business driving the institution’s growth, including retail banking, lending, deposits, marketing, digital, and business intelligence.

Earlier in her career, Becky held the role of Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer at EagleBank, the largest community bank in the Washington, D.C. metro area, where she oversaw strategic planning, go-to-market execution, digital strategy, and product development. Her impact extends beyond banking: as SVP and Head of Marketing Services at a global consulting firm, she led marketing and sales strategy engagements for over 25 Fortune 500 companies across sectors such as tech, healthcare, retail, and financial services—partnering with industry leaders like Microsoft, MasterCard, Humana, Capital One, Hilton, and PayPal.

Widely recognized for her innovative leadership, Becky has received multiple industry accolades, including being named one of Maryland’s Top 100 Women and Power 30 Financial Executives by The Daily Record and a Future Branches' Innovator Award winner. 

Becky is deeply committed to giving back and currently serves on the board of the Ulman Foundation, which supports young adults and families impacted by cancer. She is passionate about building strong workplace cultures and empowering teams through shared goals, open communication, and a clear sense of purpose—values she brings to her leadership at APGFCU every day.
