Max Lents, CEO, Baltimore Spirits Company

Max Lents, a native Texan, moved to Baltimore after graduating Goucher College in 2008 with a degree in Philosophy. After falling in love with Baltimore's vibrant creative community, he resolved that entrepreneurship in Baltimore was his future. A series of jobs, from commissioned sales to dog walking, eventually led him to bar and restaurant management.

While managing Joe Squared, a local mainstay, Max teamed with long time friends Ian Newton and Eli Breitburg-Smith and planned the launch of Baltimore Whiskey Company LLC (now named Baltimore Spirits Company) in 2013. By the end of 2015, Baltimore Whiskey Company was open and distilling, making it the oldest Rye Whiskey distillery in Baltimore. As CEO he has overseen the expansion of BSC's offerings and expansion into new markets, including California, Nevada, Illinois, Louisiana, and Arizona. He was honored by Baltimore Business Journal as a 40 under 40 nominee in 2019.
