The swim up pool bar at your hotel may look cool, but this Travel Tik Toker highly recommends against it. User @twofoodpiggies posted a video saying, "Vacation pro tip: Avoid the pool with the swim-up bar. There were literally intoxicated guests admitting that they were peering in the pool here." Ew David!
Perhaps even more alarming, people think that peeing in the pool is sanitary?!? Users in the comments, including professional swimmers, admitted to peeing in the pool; some claiming that it wasn't unhygienic because the chlorine kills the germs. This is why we can't have nice things. According to the CDC, if people are peeing in pools, it dilutes the chlorine making it less likely that the chlorine will be able to kill the germs. In 2019, the CDC issued a plea for people to stop peeing in pools after an online survey by Sachs Media Group found that 40% of the 3,100 Americans interviewed admitted to peeing in pools.
Next vacation you take, consider skipping the pool bar, but more importantly DON'T PEE IN THE POOL!
