Oh Glee, you were a pop culture staple of the 2010ās with you covers of popular songs and stories about teenage angst.
Is it too soon to rewatch the entire show? We donāt think so, and neither do former cast members Kevin McHale (āArtie Abramsā) and Jenna Ushkowitz (āTina Cohen-Chang"). The pair have teamed up once again to rewatch the musical TV show and discuss it on their new podcast And That's What You REALLY Missed.
āYou berated us, you reached us on every social media platform, and we tried to ignore it, but here we are,ā said McHale. āJenn and I have a plan for this version. We are going in-depth, we are going to be very open, we're not going to sugarcoat, we are going to talk about everything.ā
āThanks for coming back,ā Ushkowitz added. āWe are here with you, and we are excited to revisit this with new, new eyes.ā
While there has been a lot of bad press surrounding the production of Glee, both actors maintain there was also a lot of joy and love that went into the show. In the podcastās two-part premier, the hosts interview Glee showrunner Ryan Murphy.
āYou know Iāve never really talked about Glee, or the making of Glee,ā he said. āThis is going to be a really intensive therapy session.ā
Though several episodes in, the podcast has already brought back several former Glee cast members like Chris Colfer who discussed his role as āKurtā and how it helped him discover himself as an individual. Jennifer Aspen joined the podcast for an episode where she reveals she was turned down for the show only to later be cast as āKendra Giardi,ā sister-in-law of "Will Schuester.ā Finally, Heather Morris drops by on the showās most recent episode to talk about the crazy time she had playing āBrittany S. Pierce.ā
