The newest addition of Lady Whistledown's Society Papers have been published and she has in fact spilled the tea 👀
While we've already known that Netflix's smash hit Bridgerton will be back for another season, we now know which member of the esteemed family will be featured. The third installment will follow Colin Bridgerton & Penelope Featherington's relationship, which we've seen bud over the first two seasons.
"I really feel like it’s Colin and Penelope’s time. Because we’ve been watching both of these actors on our screens since Season 1, we’ve already invested in them a little bit. We know who they are as people," Bridgerton showrunner Jess Brownell told Variety."I feel like, especially in the last season, there are these moments of tension between them where it’s like, Colin walks up to the line of almost realizing that Penelope has feelings for him but doesn’t quite get there. Instead of treading water on that dynamic, we wanted to push it into their season. It really felt like the perfect moment to tee it up."
Luke Newton, who plays Colin, commented "Here we go 🙌" under the show's official announcement on Instagram as well a post on his own feed with Nicole Coughlin, who plays Pen, captioning the pic "Looks like the cats out of the bag! @bridgertonnetflix Season 3 will follow the story of Colin & Pen! See you all soon 🐝 xx"
In the original book series, Benedict is the subject of the 3rd book and while this may not be his time on screen, Brownell shared in the interview that he will be a crucial character in the upcoming season.
