Lady Whistledown has broken the news that viewers will not be seeing Regé-Jean Page's Duke of Hastings in season 2 of Bridgerton.
According to Deadline, Page was only contracted for one season of the show and that sounds to have been the show's plan all along. His character, Simon, will be continue to be referenced on-screen however.
Daphne Bridgerton, played by Phoebe Dynevor, "will remain a devoted wife and sister, helping her brother navigate the upcoming social season and what it has to offer – more intrigue and romance than my readers may be able to bear,” according to the Society Papers.
The upcoming season will focus on Anthony's search for love.
