Taylor Swift Pokes Fun At 'Lover' Album Easter Egg: See The 'Teaser'

FOX's Teen Choice Awards 2019 - Arrivals

Did Taylor Swift drop another clue about her new album?

On Sunday (August 8), five days before her seventh studio project, Lover, is set to drop, Swift teased fans with a familiar photo of herself looking through a fence with five diamond-shaped holes. "Okay NOW there are five holes in the fence," the musician captioned the image on Instagram, causing some followers to scratch their heads over what she meant behind the photo.

While the mysterious message may have perplexed others, Swifties knew right away what the “Delicate” singer was trying to say. You see, earlier this year, before announcing her new music and album details, fans made it a big deal when Swift shared the same image in a string of posts that fans assumed was part of a cryptic countdown of sorts.

Sadly, it wasn’t.

This time around, the 29-year-old seems to be poking fun at the running joke, though it’s likely the five holes could represent the five days Swifties have left before Lover releases.

The “teaser” comes after Swift announced her new single, the title record “Lover,” before unveiling the entire track listing for her upcoming LP last Friday (August 16). The 18-song album, which features guest appearances by Brendon Urie and the Dixie Chicks, includes previously-released singles “The Archer,” “You Need to Calm Down,” and “ME!”

Lover releases Friday, August 23.
