Shopping for makeup and beauty buys at Kohl’s is about to get a lot better. Sephora is setting up mini shops inside Kohl’s stores starting next year. The first 200 “Sephora at Kohl’s” locations will launch in the fall of 2021 and are described as “fully-immersive, premium beauty destinations.” They’ll be in 25-hundred square-feet of space located at the front of the store and will replace the current cosmetics areas.
The companies plan to expand to at least 850 stores by 2023 and the beauty department of Kohl’s.com is even getting the Sephora treatment. The online section featuring “an expanded assortment of Sephora’s prestige offerings” will launch next fall. The new shops within shops will bring more than 100 beauty brands to Kohl’s and will be staffed by Sephora-trained employees.
The news of this collaboration comes afterTarget announced it will be opening Ulta Beauty shops inside more than 100 of their locations next year. So it seems retailers are realizing that shoppers like consolidating trips out of the house, especially now to help cut down on potential exposure to COVID.
