Fake Amazon Dating App Allows Users To “Buy” A Date

They say that if it’s too good to be true, it usually is and that goes for dating as well. So if you saw Amazon Dating, the site offering eligible bachelors and bachelorettes for a price that was made to look just like Amazon and got excited...we’re sorry to tell you it’s all fake. No, Amazon will not deliver hot singles to your door with the click of a button.

Their homepage advertises hotties both young and old at various prices and even indicates some are “best sellers” just like Amazon. But this site is definitely not real, it was created by concept artists Ani Acopian, Suzy Shinn, Morgan Gruer and the animators at the company Thinko. And they really nailed the features of the site, so it looks like Amazon, right down to having a “deal of the day,” which was an 87-year-old silver fox named Teddy, who says he “doesn’t feel guilty about staying in on Saturday night” and he “leaves a voicemail every time.”

When you click on the “Your Last Relationship?” tab, it takes you to YouTube and plays BritneySpears’“Toxic” video. And if you click on the “legal” button, you get a downloadable document called a “Non-Ghosting Agreement.” It also allows you to change the height of your chosen single and you can even go as far as to “order” the date you want, but again, it’s NOT real and they don’t have your credit card information anyway.
