How Much Millennials Are Willing To Spend On A New Year’s Night Out

Hot Take: Christmas has nothing on a great New Year’s Eve party. You don’t have to worry about gifts, you get to dress sexy, and everyone goes hard because they think they’re going to turn things around the next day.

And as a generation, we’re into New Year’s Eve in a big way. According to a new survey, millennials are willing to spend an average of $228.10 to have a great time on December 31st. That’s $42 more than the national average.Champagne for everyone!

We might be down to splurge because 2019 sucked. Nearly 70% of millennials have reported this year was more stressful than others and said things like health care, politics, climate change, and mass shootings were to blame.Which FYI doubles as a list of things to not talk about right before the ball drops.

But 2020 is going be our year for sure! At least that’s what 73% of Americans think. The survey says a third of us are feeling “more optimistic” going into 2020 than we did going into 2019.And it better be if we’re spending $230 to throw it a welcome party.
